Meet Silva Maranhão

Meet Silva Maranhão.
He is a Brazilian painter whom I had the pleasure of photographing on his first trip to New York City.

You can read a biography about the artist and find out more about his art on http://theartofsilvamaranhao.com/Introduction.html

Some of my photos are on that website as well.

Algeria & Egypt take to the streets of Astoria

This was a friendly demonstration between Algerians and Egyptians in Astoria. I know it had to do with soccer and the world cup because I asked someone on the street that day.

Meet Jane

Meet Jane.
Her shirt reads "KILL'EM ALL, Let God Sort'Em Out".
I followed her into a local pub and she was more than happy to let me take her picture. She even told me where I could go to get a tee shirt like this of my very own.

Thank you Jane.

Flu Shot Madness

It is now November and October is behind us. That was the month that the news predicted there would be a world wide crisis because of the swine flu. The media kept repeating how everyone should go out quickly and get the vaccine. Everywhere I looked there were signs for flu shots. This picture is from a display window at a pharmacy in Manhattan. But that is all behind us.
The news is saying the worst may be over and in the end not as many people ended up receiving the vaccine as originally predicted.

October Opener

This was the opening photograph for the month of October. Once my Blog has done a year I'm thinking of creating a calender, or something, based on the opening pictures. Feel free to leave me a comment if you have any ideas.

I'M BACK and I have photoshop

Did you miss me? I know you did. I wish I had some rad adventure to explain my absence but I don't. A crashed hard drive is to blame. Apple had to install a new one for me. On one hand, it's really nice to have a "new" computer to start off working with. It is almost the same feeling, for me, as getting a beautiful, clean, new sketchbook. I love new sketchbooks, they're so full of potential.
On the other hand it TOTALLY SUCKS! All of my applications were gone, most importantly, my photoshop was gone and I didn't have the disks to re-install it. Which meant I had to buy it...

I am now the proud owner of Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended. I'm still learning the new,"extended", part of it. Sounds dirty...heehee!

Rock on!
